Modena
is the capital of the Italian supercar world and a mecca for high performance
racing car and motorcycle enthusiasts. Our five day tour will take you inside to
meet the people who count. At Maserati, Lamborghini, Pagani, Ferrari and Ducati
you will become acquainted with their dazzling ranges of current exotic
vehicles. Collectors and restorers of historic Stanguellinis, Ferraris and
Maseratis will welcome you to their collections and carrozzerie. You will visit
them and meet the craftsmen and lovers of fine machinery who care for the cars
and their legacy with a passion.
Modena, in Emilia Romagna, is also famed for its
gastronomic specialities and you will visit local producers of Parmesan cheese,
Parma ham, balsamic vinegar and the crisp Lambrusco and Sangiovese wines.
Special guests will join us for lunches and dinners where the finest the region
can offer will be on our menus. Astounding mediaeval architecture and first
class shopping complement a full and extremely enjoyable itinerary.
Join us in March or November on a journey through
the history and heritage of Italian car design. You will be accompanied
throughout by knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides and stay in an excellent
four star hotel with buffet breakfast daily. It will be an unforgettable
holiday.

4 nights in Modena
Day One
Check in at London Gatwick
Airport for the early afternoon British Airways flight to Bologna. On arrival
you will be met and taken by coach to the four star Minihotel Le Ville just 5km
from the historic centre of Modena. All bedrooms have bathroom, TV, radio and
minibar and the hotel has a bar, swimming pool and sauna. This evening we get
together for an informal welcome drinks reception after which dinner will be
served in the excellent restaurant adjoining the hotel.
Day Two – Modena
& Maserati
After breakfast we leave by coach for the Maserati factory. We will enjoy a
guided tour of the factory followed by a tour of the delightful Stanguellini
collection on the edge of Modena. From here we go into the historic centre of
Modena for a short guided tour. Then there will be free time to take lunch or
for shopping as you wish. This afternoon we will be accompanied by a Modenese
expert and personal friend of the late Enzo Ferrari for a visit to a famous
carrozzeria – a producer of one-off cars for Ferrari and Maserati. Returning to
the hotel there will be some free time before we leave again in the evening to
visit a local Parmesan cheese dairy. This is also home to the remarkable Panini
collection of Maseratis and other Grand Marques. After our visit we continue to
our restaurant in the countryside for dinner with the ‘locals’.
Day Three – Lamborghini & Gastronomy
Our first stop today is the private Lamborghini museum recently opened by the
founder’s family. From here we continue to the factory at Sant’ Agata for a
guided tour. Lunch will be taken in a special country restaurant where we will
enjoy traditional local cuisine. After lunch we will learn the secrets of the
production of balsamic vinegar before a further visit to a specialist
carrozzeria. In the late afternoon we return to the hotel. This evening is free
and the coach will be available to take those who wish into Modena for dinner.
Day Four – Pagani & Ferrari
This morning we leave for the small Pagani factory where, led by the founder
Horacio Pagani, the dedicated team of workers produce the exclusive Zonda cars.
From here we will visit the famous coachbuilders Brandoli – run by a disciple of
the legendary Sergio Scaglietti. There will be free time in Modena for lunch and
afterwards we will explore Maranello. The enlarged Galleria Ferrari houses an
extensive collection of road and race cars and afterwards there will be time to
browse in the Ferrari shops.
Back to the hotel then to relax
a while before leaving for the Montana Restaurant where we have dinner this
evening. Located by the Fiorano test track, famous folk from the world of
Ferrari dine there regularly.
Day Five –
Bologna & Ducati
After breakfast we check out of the hotel and leave by coach to visit a highly
unusual private car collection housed in a castle. We continue to Bologna for a
short guided tour followed by free time for lunch. En route to the airport our
final visit will be to the Ducati Museum to see their collection of road bikes
and race winners. At the airport we check in for the late afternoon flight to
London Gatwick arriving at 1850h.
