Introduction
F1 in Malaysia is always an enticing prospect. It's always Summer in Malaysia,
and the 2012 Malaysian Grand Prix is a great excuse for a holiday. Idyllic
resorts are in abundance and after a hectic weekend's Grand Prix racing you can
fly away to a few days on a sunkissed beach, chill out and recharge the
batteries.
The F1 hotel in this package is centrally situated just minutes from the many
markets, shopping malls and the Twin Towers. With a strong Chinese, Indian and
British influence on its culture and cuisine you will find restaurants to suit
all tastes. Most visitors try the hawker stalls where for a few pence you can
sample delicious local delicacies. Track transfers are included and you can
spend as much time at the Sepang Grand Prix track as you wish.
Penang is a popular resort and only an hour's flight from Kuala Lumpur. The
beaches are clean and white, there are night markets for those extra bargain
buys and a huge choice of restaurants. Georgetown is worth a visit as are the
many temples around the island.
On both of these2012 Malaysian Grand Prix holidays alternative UK airports and
direct flights can be arranged for you. We can also tailor-make your ideal F1
holiday to Malaysia – beaches, the rainforest or tea plantations - we can take
you there.
The Malaysian Grand Prix 2012 is just a week after the
Australian Grand Prix - why not
combine the two races? Call us on 01543 258631 to discuss the options.

Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur * * * *
A modern and elegant hotel just 10 minutes walk from the Petronas Twin Towers
and close to the Bukit Bintang shopping area. All rooms have private bathroom,
air-conditioning and feature extra large windows overlooking the cityscape.
Facilities include a bar and two restaurants offering Asian, Malaysian and
International cusines. There is a well-equipped gym and an outdoor pool.
Holiday Inn, Penang
Penang
is the most popular of Malaysia’s island resorts and just a one hour flight from
Kuala Lumpur. It was the first British trading post in the Far East and the
capital, Georgetown, is still a bustling city. There’s plenty to see here and,
if you are brave enough, you can take a trishaw ride around the streets with the
colourful pre-war shophouses. Elsewhere on the island you can visit butterfly
farms and botanical gardens, the Chinese pagoda, take a funicular to the top of
Fraser’s Hill and see one of the world’s longest reclining Buddha’s.
On Batu Ferringhi beach you can
slow down! Spend the daytime under a shady palm tree and sunsets here are
magnificent. As dusk falls sip a cocktail by the pool bar and plan your evening.
You can sample any number of cuisines in the many restaurants, buy your
souvenirs from the street market and there are late night bars and nightclubs if
you wish.
The hotel is not the biggest on
the beach but the service is personal, the gardens are beautiful and the open
air lobby lounge and coffee shop are excellent value. Bedrooms reserved for you
all have seaview.
Tailor Made Holidays...
There are so many wonderful
places to visit in Malaysia. You can spend a few days in the ancient rainforest,
look down from the tree-top canopy walkway, swim in fresh lakes and take guided
jungle walks. Fly down to Borneo to visit the orang utan sanctuary whilst
spending a few days at one of the excellent resort hotels. Melaka, the
birthplace of modern Malaysia, is a city rich in cultural heritage and very
colourful. In the Cameron Highlands tea plantations stretch for miles around and
you can take tea and buttered scones at a typically English inn. There’s so much
to see and do – and we can arrange it for you.
Grand Prix Tickets...Viewing from
all the stands at Sepang is excellent but particularly recommended is K on the
first corner. The stand is high and from the Platinum section you can see the
start/finish straight. Facilities are good along the mall and at the entrance
you will find a well stocked circuit shop for clothing and souvenirs, the trade
stands and exhibitions. There’s also a bar and restaurant and an ATM machine.
There are no child discounts for this race. Two day tickets are
valid for Saturday and Sunday. For entry to the track on Friday you will need a
three day ticket.
