Jerez Moto GP...

30th March 2008 - Moto GP main menu - Motorsport main menu - 0845 003 2213

Jerez is one of the biggest bike events on the planet. World-Class racing coupled with a bike crazy town on your doorstep makes this round a must see. The crowd at the circuit, and in town is always huge and the atmosphere has to be experienced to be believed. Our hotel for this event is in the town of Puerta de Sta Maria which is full of bikes for the whole weekend. There is a wide street in the centre of town where bikes do burnouts, wheelies and drag races all night long. It makes for an interesting night out!

Jerez is located in western Andalucia, which in the middle of Summer is hot, dry and arid but in late Spring the climate is perfect with enough heat in the sun to warm you through and make you forget the cool British weather. The circuit was built in 1986, it hosted its first Grand Prix in 1987 and has since become one of the most popular MotoGP circuits and is regularly used for testing. The circuit can accommodate up to 250,000 spectators and the range of grandstands provide excellent viewing. In 2007 Dani Pedrosa looked set for a race win starting from pole in front of his home crowd but it wasn’t to be as he was eventually passed by Valentino Rossi who claimed his first win of the season to put him back at the top of the championship table. With its combination of location and atmosphere Jerez is the perfect start to your 2008 MotoGP season.

Hotel details...

Hotel Monasterio San Miguel
Our four star hotel, a former convent, is conveniently situated in the centre of El Puerto de Sta Maria. The hotel has a very lively bar and good restaurant. The town plays host to the Saturday night party, which is one long full throttle bike fiesta. With this location and the circuit only a short drive away you will be able to enjoy your weekend to the full.

Circuit & Race Tickets

All tickets are valid for three days and all grandstand seats are numbered. We can supply tickets to all the stands listed but we recommend the following stands for the very best viewing – all of which have a view of a giant screen:

Grandstand X1 - Overlooking the last three right hand corners before the hairpin onto the start/finish straight. £85 per person

Grandstand J4 - On the first corner as the bikes come off the start line. £85 per person

Grandstand Especial - This grandstand overlooks the final corner – where Rossi sideswiped Gibernau in the 2005 MotoGP! £145 per person

Where is the circuit located? The Circuito Permanente de Jerez is located 10km (6 miles) north-east of Jerez de la Frontera in southern Spain, 89km (55miles) south of Sevilla, 35km (21 miles) northeast of Cadiz and 117km (73 miles) north-west of Gibraltar.
