The beautiful city of
Florence lies on the banks of the River Arno and is famous for its artistic and
architectural treasures. The historic centre is rich in mediaeval and Gothic
palazzos, galleries and museums and the Cathedral Square is a focal point for
tourists and locals alike.
Modern facilities are in no short supply either – open-air markets, stylish fashion boutiques and plenty of restaurants and lively bars make Florence an ideal base for a weekend break. Mugello circuit is set in the hills of the rolling Tuscan countryside just 30 miles north of Florence. The Italians are passionate about their racing and there is no shortage of support for their heroes Rossi and Capirossi. The 2007 race saw Rossi win at his home Grand Prix for the sixth consecutive year. The deafening roar of the thousands of fans as he crossed the line proved that they were not disappointed!
Friday 30 May Your flight departs from London Gatwick 0830h to Bologna. On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel in Florence where accommodation is reserved for you for three nights on bed and breakfast basis. Saturday 31 May & Sunday 1 June At leisure to enjoy as you wish or join our coach to the circuit for practice, qualifying and the races. The coach will leave after breakfast each morning and return at the end of each day’s events. Monday 2 June The morning is free to enjoy as you wish. You will leave for the airport mid-afternoon for the 1845h flight to London Gatwick.
Hotel Royal Firenze *** Our hotel is located in a quiet area of the town and the magnificent Duomo is within easy reach. Originally a splendid Florentine villa built in 1700, it was a family residence until 1950 and has since been turned into a hotel making an ideal base from which to explore Florence. The Hotel has a beautiful garden with a swimming pool and bedrooms have TV, telephone, mini-bar, safe and air-conditioning. The hotel also has a small bar and you will find plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
