Introduction...
In 2011 it is the turn of the Nurburgring to
host the German Grand Prix. It is a fine and traditional circuit with plenty of
history. Built in the 1920’s the Nurburgring was originally 14 miles long and
incredibly demanding. Now, at just over three miles in length, Nurburgring is
better suited to the high-speed F1 cars of today. You can still drive the old
Nordschleife circuit or you can book a hair-raising lap with one of the
Ringmeisters!
Thehotel for the 2011 German Grand Prix is in Cologne, a beautiful city on the
banks of the Rhine. The magnificent spires of the ancient Cathedral dominate the
skyline and in the warm July sunshine the squares and market places of the old
town will be full of people enjoying their evenings on the terraces of the cafes
and restaurants.
Travel to Cologne by air or road to the 2011 German Grand Prix and join us at
the hotel. However you choose to travel to Germany a representative will be at
the hotel to assist you and track transfers to the F1 racing at the Nurburgring
on Saturday and Sunday are included.
Germany - Low Emission Zones
Many cities throughout Germany have or are about to implement Low Emission Zones
into which only vehicles displaying an Emission Badge (Umwelt Plakette) are
allowed to enter. Vehicles entering a Green Zone and not displaying the badge
are likely to be fined euros 40.
For further information on the cities affected and how to obtain a badge we
recommend you visit the German Tourist Office website on
http:www.germany-tourism.co.uk and
click on Driving in Germany.
