Introduction...

The race at the legendary Sarthe circuit is always one of the most popular on the calendar.   It is easy to get to and the brand new circuit facilities, ample parking and camping areas means there is a real party atmosphere going on.  Le Mans town is no distance and whenever there is a big event at the track everyone gets involved – the locals love it! 

The 2007 race was action packed – due largely to inclement weather.  Pit stops and accidents were numerous, doing for most of the frontrunners.  Chris Vermeulen took to the wet like the proverbial duck and secured his first MotoGP victory from 12th on the grid.  Melandri eventually settled for second and the third podium place went to Casey Stoner, increasing his championship lead to 21 points over rival Rossi.

Itinerary...

Friday 16 May

Check in in Dover for your reserved cross channel sailing to Calais.  On arrival in France continue your journey south to your hotel or to the campsite at the circuit.

Hotel accommodation is reserved for you for three nights on bed and breakfast basis.

Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 May

Free to come and go as you wish to the track.

Monday 19 May

Leave Le Mans or your hotel at leisure and return to Calais arriving in good time to check in for your reserved sailing to Dover.

N.B.  Alternative longer channel sailings or Eurotunnel crossings can be reserved for you and will incur a supplement.

Hotels...

Villages * Just north of the Le Mans ringroad towards Alencon it is a simple, modern hotel. Bedrooms have shower, wc and TV.  Each room has a double bed and above it a raised single bed.  A large car park is secured by electric gates.  There are restaurants nearby and a large shopping complex within a few minutes of the hotel.  It is just 20 minutes to the circuit around the ringroad.
Campanile * * The hotel is located just off the N38 in La Ferte Bernard 30 miles north east of Le Mans.  It is a sizeable town with plenty of bars and restaurants.  The hotel has a restaurant and ample parking and all bedrooms have bathroom, TV and telephone.
Sully * * * The hotel is in the centre of Nogent-le-Rotrou, 40 miles north east of Le Mans.  It is just a couple of minutes walk from the town centre.  The hotel has a bar and restaurant and bedrooms are very comfortable with bathroom, TV and telephone.

Ticket information...

A general admission ticket is included in the Tour price which includes parking and access to most of the grandstands.
