5 night package from £1109 per person

Sunday 15 February 2009 is a special date in the history of motorsport in the USA. The 50th Running of The Great American Race – the Daytona 500 NASCAR race – takes place on the mighty Speedway oval.

NASCAR is a passion in the States and the season always starts with the most prestigious event on the calendar – the Daytona 500.  Loyal fans gather annually to celebrate the week long festival of auto racing and most would rather sell their Granny than give up their option on their preferred seat!   The Daytona Oval is hallowed ground for drivers too and a win on the high banks is akin to winning the Monaco F1 Grand Prix or the Le Mans 24 Hours.

The 2007 Daytona 500 race produced the closest finish in the history of Daytona as Kevin Harvick overtook race veteran Mark Martin on the last corner to win by a bumper.  202 laps at a race pace of 190pmh, a series of lead changes, laps under caution and a last lap sprint is the kind of racing over 160,000 fans flock to see.

Our tour price includes a Superstretch grandstand seat for the Busch 300 race on Saturday and the Daytona 500 on Sunday and entrance to the infield Fanzone on Saturday.

Away from the track there’s always plenty going on. Daytona USA is a NASCAR themed attraction featuring high-energy thrills and interactive games for all ages. Here you can change tyres in a pit stop challenge or tackle the track in a choice of race car simulators. Locally, Hooters and the Belly Up Saloon will be doing a roaring trade and adding to the overall party atmosphere.

Our holiday is based in Orlando where there’s also no shortage of entertainment. On International Drive you will be well placed to enjoy your free time, to visit the many attractions and enjoy the local shops and restaurants.

5 nights in Orlando...

Thursday 12 February - Fly from London Gatwick Airport at 1140h by scheduled service of British Airways to Orlando arriving at 1625h local time.   Here you will be met and taken by coach to the Holiday Inn on International Drive where accommodation is reserved for you for five nights on room only basis.

Friday 13 February - At leisure in Orlando to shop, sightsee or visit one of the many theme parks.

Saturday 14 February - Depart early from the hotel by coach to Daytona and the Speedway Stadium.  The main race of the day is the Busch 300 and a superstretch grandstand seat is included.  Today you will also have access to the infield Fanzone.  From the boardwalk you can look down into the pits and, as each garage has a glass wall, you can watch the teams at work.  You will return to Orlando at the end of the day’s events.

Sunday 15 February - Early departure by coach for Daytona and the NASCAR 500 race.  A superstretch grandstand ticket is once again included.  You will return to the hotel at the end of the day’s events.
