Introduction...
The southernmost state of mainland Australia, Victoria has massive appeal. The Great Ocean Road is a magnificent coastline, wild with ancient rock formations. Inland are the soaring sandstone mountains and waterfalls of the Grampians and the award-winning vineyards of the Yarra Valley. The city of Melbourne is vibrant and cosmopolitan with plenty of excellent restaurants and lively bars and the Australian Grand Prix circuit, in Albert Park just south of the Yarra, is just fifteen minutes from the centre of Melbourne by tram.

It is traditional for the stunning city of Melbourne to host a Grand Prix at the end of the Australian Summer when the weather is ideal. Sport is what Melbourne does best and the 2012 Australian Grand Prix race weekend is a four day festival of motorsport. Access to the Albert Park track and grandstands is easy, the Melbourne F1 Grand Prix schedule runs to time, there are plenty of food and drink outlets and there are entertainments galore – the whole Australian Formula One event is extremely well organised.

If you are travelling this far then it would be a pity not to enjoy more of the spectacular scenery and sights of Australia. No visit to Australia is complete without spending a few nights in Sydney. Sydney Harbour really is breathtakingly beautiful and the best way to see it is from the water on one the many ferry boats which criss-cross Sydney harbour regularly. Fly north to Cairns, starting point for exploring the Great Barrier Reef and the rainforest or drive south from Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road to Adelaide. Across the water is Tasmania – the hidden gem. It’s pure and natural with plenty of unique wildlife and untouched wilderness. You can fly or take the ferry from Melbourne.

There’s so much choice and so much to see – just call us to discuss your plans and we’ll be happy to tailor-make the perfect Australian Grand Prix holiday!

The Malaysian Grand Prix is just a week after the 2012 Australian Grand Prix - why not combine the two races? Call us on 01543 258631 to discuss the options.

A weekend at the Albert Park Circuit is an amazing experience. Access is easy, transport from the city centre is very frequent and well organised, there are plenty of track entry points and, once inside, there's no shortage of food and drink, souvenir stands, exhibitions and green areas to sit. You can walk almost all the way around the track and there are several specially built mounds for even better viewing. The grandstands are not covered but all seats are numbered and have giant screens. Most grandstand tickets are valid for four days although there is no F1 action on Thursday. A general admission ticket is good value and there are plenty of viewing areas but it does not give admission to the shopping and restaurant village at the back of the Fangio grandstand.
