Horse Racing main menu - 0845 003 2213
The Breeders' Cup World Championships 2010 return to Churchill Downs - the
celebrated home of the Kentucky Derby. Join us for two days of spectacular
racing at Churchill Downs!
We offer two tours: (both
include flights, accommodation, transfers, event tickets, for more details see
below)
- 4 nights, click here
- 8 nights, click here
CHURCHILL DOWNS
This will be the seventh time, in the twenty-seven runnings of the Breeders'
Cup, that Churchill Downs has been the chosen venue. Churchill Downs opened in
1875 and the first Kentucky Derby was run in the same year. The twin spires atop
the grandstands are the most recognisable feature of Churchill Downs and are
used as a symbol of the track. Churchill Downs covers 147 acres and the main,
oval, dirt track is one mile in circumference and the turf track, inside the
main track, is 7 furlongs in circumference. In addition to the track, clubhouse
and stables, Churchill Downs also contains the Kentucky Derby Museum which
focuses on the history of the Kentucky Derby and Churchill Downs.
FACILITIES AT CHURCHILL DOWNS RACECOURSE
Clubhouse Box Reserved Seats are included in the tour price.
Kentucky weather can be extremely changeable at this time of the year and can be
cold and inclement. Therefore, for those of you who may wish to have a warm,
indoor base, we are able to obtain places in either Silks or Champions Room on
the 2nd floor of the Clubhouse to include food and non-alcoholic beverages for
both days.
Please note that there is no track view from these rooms.
Supplement £340.00 p.p. for the two days
BREEDERS' CUP
Since its inaugural running at Hollywood Park in 1984, the Breeders' Cup has
established itself as the season-ending World Championship of Thoroughbred
Racing.
2009 was the year that Zenyatta became a household name in America! The large,
five year old mare took on the "boys" in the Breeders' Cup Classic and powered
past five horses up the straight to take her record to a perfect 14 wins from 14
starts and became the first female to win the Breeders' Cup Classic. Her
achievement seemed to overshadow other tremendous victories earlier in the day -
the amazing Goldikova who, for the second successive year, won the Breeders' Cup
Mile; the great Conduit who fought, and held on, to win the Breeders' Cup Turf
for the second consecutive year and the partnership of John Gosden and Frankie
Dettori who won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf for a second year, this time
with Pounced. On the Friday, Man of Iron won the Breeders' Cup Marathon for
Aidan O'Brien's Ballydoyle stable and Midday, won the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare
Turf.

Tour Extensions...
Over the years that we have been
operating the Breeders' Cup we are aware that many of our clients have extended
their visit to the United States for either business or pleasure purposes. With
this in mind, we would like to make a few suggestions to you of possible
destinations that are easily accessible from Louisville.
FLORIDA - Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Naples
Naples, Marco Island and the western portion of the Everglades make up
Southwest Florida's Collier County - also known as The Paradise Coast. Downtown
Naples is an eclectic shopping and restaurant mecca with a variety of
entertainment, art galleries and the Naples Pier - a perfect place to catch the
spectacular daily sunsets into the serene Gulf of Mexico. Experience Florida's
Paradise Coast at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples. Featuring dazzling views of the Gulf
of Mexico, three miles of pristine beaches, world-class restaurants and
impeccable service, The Ritz-Carlton offers an unforgettable retreat in one of
the world's most beautiful locations.

MEXICO - Fairmont Acapulco
Princess, Acapulco
This is a great destination for unforgettable vacations! The Fairmont
Acapulco Princess hotel is tucked away on Revolcadero Beach, 20-minutes from the
bustle of downtown and a few minutes from the airport. This hotel's 15-story
Aztec pyramid-shaped main building, lush gardens, sparkling pools, golf course,
fine restaurants and spa cater to the desires of the world's most discerning
guests.
Guests will find five free-form swimming pools, one a saltwater lagoon, and the
Acapulco Princess' lush gardens containing over 750 plant species and sheltering
a colorful assortment of swans, flamingos and tropical birds.

ARIZONA - The Phoenician, Scottsdale
The Phoenician, located in Scottsdale and surrounded by the stunning Sonoran
Desert is one of America's most luxurious resorts. Recipient of the AAA 5
Diamond Award, the hotel continues to set new standards for style and service.
The 250 acres at the base of Camelback Mountain contain everything you could
desire: one of America's best resort golf courses, The Centre for Well-Being
spa, a tennis complex, nine swimming pools, and elegant bars and lounges.

NEW YORK - The Peninsula, New York City
The Peninsula Hotel is
located in Manhattan on Fifth Avenue at 55th Street. The Museum of Modern Art,
Central Park, Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center and Saks Fifth Avenue are all
within five blocks of the hotel. The hotel was completely renovation in 1998 and
many of the Beaux Arts architectural features of this 1902 landmark, formerly
known as the Gotham building, were retained. This luxury hotel pampers guests
and features a tri-level health spa and a rooftop lounge with great city views.
These are just a few ideas - we would be delighted to assist you and quote for
any tailormade extension to any destination in the US, Canada, the Caribbean or
